Blogging and social media in general is evolving every day. Blogs are a great way to become an expert in your niche, writing your own blog, commenting on other blogs, talking about and staying involved in the community surrounding your niche. People get to know you this way, they see you participating and they relate your name or your brand with the topic and you’re top of their mind when the topic comes up.
Lately I’ve noticed more and more that people are just hitting the “Tweet” or Facebook button and sending posts to Twitter instead of leaving a comment on the blog post. Sometimes they do both, comment and tweet or share to Facebook. Is this the new black in the world of blogging?
I think it has a lot to do with our always being busy… You want to comment and you like what the author wrote, but you’re in a hurry, you’re running late, you have a dentist appointment, you’re mobile on your tablet or smartphone and typing out a comment is a pain in the butt when you can just tweet or share with the swipe of your fingertip. Swipe, shared, done.
That seems reasonable and you’re still thanking the author and recognizing them for their efforts. I “like” it. 😉 See what I did there?
