Squidoo Lenses in October

I know it’s strange and weird, but this is one of the things that I do when I’m frustrated by other things… I can often been found “taking a break from work” and doing what other people would consider work.

Squidoo is my middle of the day (or middle of the night) playground for creating pages without having to build entire websites around a topic. These are a few of my most recently published Squidoo pages…

==> The Adventures of Tintin Halloween Costumes (has had a crazy awesome number of sales the past two weeks!)

==> Hobbit Costumes for Halloween or For Movie Night (sadly, this is my only Halloween lens with zero sales so far for October, total bummer there aren’t more hobbits this year)

==> iPad 3 versus Other Tablets – Is There a True Competitor? (lots of visits, one sale so far)

==> Five iPad 3 Accessories You’ll Want to Get (no sales yet, but picking up traffic daily)

==> The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King (created as part of a book club quest to write about a favorite novel)

==> Corn Shellers (totally random, just having a bit of fun with Mark’s corn sheller topic – wasn’t expecting any results from this lens at all, so I was pleasantly surprised to see traffic and Amazon sales come in from it)

==> Lego Ninjago Destiny’s Bounty Review (not doing as well as I had hoped, might need to add some more content)

==> Hard Rock Cafe Barbie (not a lot of traffic yet, super new still, but one Amazon sale already)

I originally had intentions of focusing on Halloween all month long, but as you can see my mind wandered and I have a mixture of topics for the month. My schedule is pretty booked for the rest of the month, so I don’t think I’ll get any new lenses created until November now… and I’m thinking about working on a mini-site instead of doing Squidoo lenses next month… but more on that another day.

Happy Squidoodling!

  1. Hi, Loretta:

Nice job on the Squidoo lenses. I have a few questions for you about it.

    1. What (if any) tool do you use for KW research inside of Squidoo or do you simply use the Google KW tool?
    2. Does the traffic from your various pages above come from Squidoo itself or Google?

    Let me know.

    Kindly,
    Missy

    • 1. What (if any) tool do you use for KW research inside of Squidoo or do you simply use the Google KW tool?
      — I use a combination of WordTracker and Google Instant (all free – I find paid kw tools just give me a headache)

      2. Does the traffic from your various pages above come from Squidoo itself or Google?
      — Both. There is internal traffic from Squidoo itself as well as organic traffic from Google and other search engines.
